Steam

Can everyone in a Steam Family run the same game at the same time?

Simultaneous players need enough copies of that game. A second family member does not create a second copy, and copies with different DLC may not suit the same save.

Check sharing, copies and DLC

Does moving or verifying a Steam game also protect my progress?

Neither operation is a save-backup check. A game can launch from its new drive while its saves live elsewhere; file verification checks the installation, not which playthrough you wanted to keep.

I subscribed to a Workshop mod. Why is it not in the game?

The item may still be downloading, need activation inside the game or require other content. Check those stages separately. A subscription badge alone does not confirm installation or compatibility.

Follow the Workshop checks

Why is my purchased DLC missing in the game?

Ownership, installation and in-game access are separate checks. Confirm the required base game and account, then the DLC state and any stated unlock conditions.

The store is in my language. Will the game be too?

Check the game's language table separately for interface, subtitles and full audio. A translated store page does not establish in-game support or every text-and-voice combination.

Where is my Steam screenshot, and is it already shared?

Find the capture in Steam's screenshot manager, then locate the actual image file. Check any uploaded copy and its visibility separately; a local thumbnail alone does not establish a public post.

Can I play my Steam game without internet?

Check whether the game needs an online service, finish setup while connected, then test Steam Offline Mode with your intended game mode and save. Being invisible to friends is a different setting.

Why does Play return immediately without opening my game?

Note the exact error and whether Steam, another game or a separate launcher works. Test one relevant change and retry the same launch; reinstalling first can lose useful evidence without fixing the cause.

Narrow down a launch problem

Can I request a Steam refund, and does pending mean approved?

For ordinary Steam-store games, check both the 14-day purchase window and playtime under 2 hours. Other purchases have separate rules. A submitted request is not the same as approval or money returned.

Why is a game I bought missing from my Steam library?

Confirm the purchasing account, remove library filters and check hidden games. Then inspect the purchase status. Installed files alone do not establish ownership or continuing shared access.

What do Steam's review scores actually tell me?

They summarize positive recommendations among the reviews included in that score. Check its period, language scope and count, then read reports about your device and intended mode. Overall does not necessarily mean every language.

How do I keep Steam Guard access when changing my phone?

Check whether the old authenticator works and whether you can receive messages at the account's phone number. Use the official app's transfer or recovery flow, then verify the new phone. Removing the authenticator is not the default preparation step.

Do three synchronized copies mean three restore points?

Three copies can contain the same later state. Our example has an earlier state only because a separate copy was retained. Count the states described, not just their storage locations.

Does 20% mean a reward within five tries?

At an independent 20% per attempt, five attempts average one reward, but the chance of at least one is 67.232%. Neither means a guarantee.

Three people are connected. Can all three play?

Not necessarily. In our example, three people share a game with only two active player places. Streaming adds a way to connect; it does not add a third place to that mode.

My controller works, but why does the game show another button?

A physical button can send keyboard Space or gamepad A through a layout. If the intended action works but the icon differs, that observation alone does not show a hardware fault or prove every controller feature works.

Two calculated examples show 100 FPS. Are they equally steady?

One calculated run has 1,000 intervals of 10 ms. Another has 990 intervals of 9 ms and ten of 109 ms. Both take ten seconds: 100 FPS. Yet the second contains ten long gaps. Average FPS alone hides their distribution.

These are invented teaching sequences, not measurements from a game or predictions for your PC.

Compare the sequences and read the results

Higher FPS, but more time in long gaps?

In a constructed ten-second comparison, average FPS rises from 99 to 120 while the share of time in intervals above the 60 FPS reference rises from 2% to 5.6%. The average rate improved, but the long-interval measure worsened. Decide which question you need to answer before calling one setting better.

This is an arithmetic example, not a measurement of a game or a prediction of what feels smoother.

Satisfactory Helper

The machine count looks right. Why am I making fewer iron plates?

Check the ore and the belts before adding another constructor. A target of 80 plates per minute needs 120 ore per minute through the standard processes; a single 60-per-minute ore belt cannot carry that supply.

Fix the limiting belt before adding more machines

Plan 81 plates per minute with 5 smelters and 5 constructors. Compare the same buildings while changing only ore supply and shared belt capacity.

More ore alone leaves the 120-capacity belt limiting output to 80. A 270-capacity belt with 121.5 ore supports 81; supplying 150 ore raises the ceiling to 100. That ceiling is not a promise of sustained output.

Use standard 1× recipe-cost and power-consumption settings. Different game-mode multipliers require a different calculation; these results do not adjust for them.

I have the parent species. Is the breeding plan ready?

A species combination is only the first check. You need two distinct individuals with opposite sexes, an available Breeding Farm and cake. Plan the incubator too if your goal is a hatched Anubis.

Prepare a batch without counting ingredients twice

Plan 3 completed breeding cycles using standard cakes, with a suitable pair and 1 cake already prepared. You need to make 2 more cakes. Compare their direct ingredients with your remaining loose ingredients.

Subtract prepared cakes before multiplying the recipe. Then subtract loose ingredients once from that total. Farm and incubator construction are separate, reusable preparation; do not charge their materials again for each cycle.

Can I switch to Moonveil now, and what is still missing?

Compare your attributes with Strength 12, Dexterity 18 and Intelligence 23. Passing these requirements permits this use check; it does not prove Moonveil is stronger than your current weapon.

A temporary pass can hide a base-attribute shortfall

Suppose you own Moonveil with base attributes 12 / 13 / 18 and observed temporary bonuses 0 / 5 / 5, in Strength / Dexterity / Intelligence order. This arithmetic example does not prescribe a particular bonus source.

The active values 12 / 18 / 23 meet the requirements. Without the bonuses, Dexterity is short by 5 and Intelligence by 5. A surplus in another attribute cannot pay either deficit; the base-attribute shortfall totals 10 points.

How much more ore do I need when two weapons share my materials?

Count finished weapons first. Combine the ingots and planks needed for the remaining weapons, use each stock once, then refine only the missing ingots. Separate calculations using the same inventory can understate what you need.

An already owned sword changes the ore you must gather

Your final goal is 1 Copper Sword and 1 Copper Mace. You have 8 Copper Ingots, 12 Planks and 250 Copper Ore. Compare having neither weapon with already owning the sword.

With neither weapon made, gather 230 more ore and 4 planks. If the sword is already owned, the stock covers the mace: refine 8 ingots using 160 ore. Plan both targets together so the same inventory is not spent twice.

Will another tank trailer let me carry the cargo I want?

Match the cargo form to the tank type first. A food tank does not become a fuel tank because both carry liquids. A second trailer of an already owned type adds no new cargo type within this comparison.

More cargo variety does not always serve the purchase goal

You own a single fuel tank, can access Aalborg with Scandinavia, and want to carry diesel. Compare another fuel tank with a food or chemical tank.

Food and chemical tanks add 6 and 1 listed cargo forms; another fuel tank adds 0. But diesel is already covered by the tank you own. None of these purchases is needed solely to unlock diesel compatibility.

A full container can hide an underfed factory

A line can look healthy while consuming resources faster than they arrive. Work through this material balance before treating a short burst of production as a sustainable plan.

Counted items and items per minute answer different questions

Stock tells you what is available now. Supply tells you how fast it is replaced. A container holding 300 ore does not supply 300 ore per minute. Measure the flow separately from the pile.

Keep the process fixed; change one condition

Use a Satisfactory line targeting 80 iron plates per minute. Its standard processes need 120 ore per minute, with 4 smelters and 4 constructors at 100% clock. The counted ore sits immediately before the shared ore belt and is ready to feed it. Each case uses the stated capacity for each shared ore, ingot and plate belt.

Find the deficit before dividing the stock

When the delivery path can feed the target, 90 ore arriving per minute leaves a deficit of 120 − 90 = 30 per minute. Then 300 ÷ 30 = 10 minutes of ideal buffer support. After 5 minutes, 150 ore remains in this model. Dividing 300 by the full demand of 120 would wrongly ignore the incoming ore.

Four conditions, four different conclusions

The starting plan: the pile makes up the missing flow

Starting ore stock
300
Ore arriving per minute
90
Capacity of each shared belt per minute
120
Ideal counted-buffer duration at the target, in minutes
10
Sustained plate capacity ceiling per minute
60

Stock falls by 30 ore per minute. It can bridge the deficit for 10 ideal minutes, but once that support is gone, 90 incoming ore per minute supports a ceiling of 60 plates per minute.

Compare stock at two known times. A falling pile can explain why a brief production check looked better than the incoming supply supports.

Double the stock: more time, the same lasting limit

Starting ore stock
600
Ore arriving per minute
90
Capacity of each shared belt per minute
120
Ideal counted-buffer duration at the target, in minutes
20
Sustained plate capacity ceiling per minute
60

With 600 ore, 600 ÷ 30 = 20 ideal minutes. The ongoing supply is still 90, so the lasting ceiling remains 60 plates per minute. More storage or a larger initial pile does not create a faster incoming flow.

Use a buffer as temporary cover for a deficit. Improve the supply if the goal is sustained production at the target.

Raise the inflow: remove this material deficit

Starting ore stock
300
Ore arriving per minute
120
Capacity of each shared belt per minute
120
Ideal counted-buffer duration at the target, in minutes
No depletion in this balance
Sustained plate capacity ceiling per minute
80

With 120 ore arriving and 120 consumed per minute, stock has no net decrease in this balance. The ceiling reaches 80 plates per minute. This removes the modeled ore deficit; it does not prove that power, distribution or output space will stay available.

When stock is stable but output is still low, inspect the other conditions instead of adding ore simply because production is below target.

Narrow the belt: a full store cannot bypass transport

Starting ore stock
300
Ore arriving per minute
90
Capacity of each shared belt per minute
60
Ideal counted-buffer duration at the target, in minutes
Not applicable: transport blocks the target
Sustained plate capacity ceiling per minute
40

A 60-per-minute shared ore belt cannot deliver the 120 needed for the target. The stored ore is before that belt, so it cannot bypass the limit. Do not report a target-support time here; the plate ceiling is 40 per minute.

Trace the path from the counted stock to the machines. Fix a limiting connection before using a depletion-time formula. Not applicable does not mean the container is empty.

Check your reasoning

In the starting plan, only the ore stock changes from 300 to 600. What can you conclude?

  1. The ideal support time doubles; the lasting plate ceiling stays at 60 per minute.
  2. The lasting plate ceiling rises to 80 per minute.
  3. The support time stays at 10 minutes because the machines did not change.

Read the worked answer

The first conclusion follows from the assumptions: 300 ÷ 30 = 10 and 600 ÷ 30 = 20. In both cases the lasting plate ceiling is 60 per minute. Storage changes the time available to fix the deficit, not the continuing supply.

An ideal balance, not a stopwatch for your factory

These are calculated examples, not measured play sessions. They assume standard 1× recipe costs, no production augmentation, an already filled process, constant rates, adequate power, clear outputs and sufficient distribution. Machine cycles, startup, interruptions and stock inside machines or belts are not simulated. Actual slowdown can occur at a different time.

Take one useful check back into the game

Identify the stock you counted, its incoming flow and every connection it must pass. Compare equivalent operating periods rather than a single moment. If measured stock changes disagree with this balance, check the assumptions before trusting the time estimate.
