Does the support claim cover your plan?

A shared game name, a supported platform and an accepted invitation answer different questions. Read the conditions before promising that everyone can join the same activity.

Two invented teaching examples, not compatibility results for a real game. The cards supply the facts needed for each answer.

A cross-play statement names a different mode

Two friends want to connect separate game instances for an online campaign: one runs PC edition X and the other runs console edition Y. Read this fictional game's support cards.

The campaign claim needs its own supporting evidence.

Neither a platform list nor a different mode's support fills that gap. Missing information is not proof of incompatibility. An explicit online campaign statement for X and Y would resolve this gap; an explicit local-only restriction would rule out the proposed online campaign instead.

Next useful check

Ask the precise question: does the current online campaign support these two editions together? Keep confirmed support, explicit exclusions and missing information separate.

Scroll the evidence table horizontally if it does not fit your screen.

ObservationWhat is givenWhat it tells you
Available editionsX for PC; Y for consoleBoth editions exist. Availability alone says nothing about connecting them.
Arena supportOnline arena: cross-play between X and YThis statement names the intended editions, but a different mode.
Campaign descriptionTwo-player co-opThe card does not say whether this is local or online, or which edition pairs it supports.
What can the friends conclude from these cards?
  1. The online campaign works because the arena has cross-play.
  2. The campaign definitely has no online play.
  3. X and Y have stated arena support; their online campaign support is unconfirmed.

X and Y have stated arena support; their online campaign support is unconfirmed.

A remote connection does not create another player place

Three friends want to control separate players simultaneously in a fictional game's local mode. The host shares that one running game through a supported remote-play session.

At most 2. A third connection does not enlarge the local mode.

Connected people and active player places are different counts. More input devices do not remove the stated limit. A mode with three places would remove this particular obstacle, but the cards say nothing about another mode. Available places also do not prove that controls are assigned correctly or that streaming is responsive.

Next useful check

Check the intended mode's simultaneous-player limit before arranging the group. Separate people watching or taking turns from people controlling different players at the same time.

How many separate active player places does this session provide?
  1. 3, because three people are connected.
  2. At most 2, because the game's stated limit still applies.
  3. 3 as soon as another controller is connected.

Describe the session before checking support

  1. Name the exact editions, platforms, mode and number of simultaneous players.
  2. Distinguish separate game instances connecting online from people sharing one running game's local mode.
  3. Match each claim to those conditions. Mark missing evidence as unknown, not automatically supported or unsupported.

What these examples cannot confirm

Real games can differ by edition, update, mode, platform pair and supported combination of local and online players. These cards are not a current game catalogue.

Stated feature support does not establish account permissions, service availability, correct input assignment or connection quality. This page checks no game, device or account.

Match the support claim to the session you actually want. Count active places separately from connected people.
